How likely is it that WB/Discovery green-light Harry Potter spinoffs like The Marauders, Voldemort centric prequel, and OG Order of the Phoenix crew series?
In leaning into ScreenRant’s article about potential spinoffs: https://screenrant.com/harry-potter-tv-show-spinoffs-warner-bros-consider/
And recent rumblings of WB/Discovery having a 10 year plan for this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/monicamercuri/2024/02/23/harry-potter-tv-series-targets-2026-premiere---all-about-the-new-show/
Do we anticipate that they will also have the spinoffs if not already in planning, close to doing so?
I believe the best way to get audiences tuning in their streamer while keeping Harry Potter and his story beats separate and faithful to the books is to allow separate stories to breathe and be their own thing rather than fluff up things during the main story.
Realistically, The Marauders seems like a spinoff that could happen right after Prisoner of Azkaban (Year 3). In the background of the Marauders, you have the beginnings of the First Wizarding War.
After Goblet of Fire (Year 4), we should have the same series (maybe under a different name like “Riddle” or “Voldemort”) shift mostly to Voldemorts POV and origins. Have it go from his beginnings to his Graduation days and lastly to his rejection of being granted a post as DATDA and beginning his ascent.
After Order of the Phoenix (Year 5), we should have the original Order of the Phoenix series and encompass the apex of the first Wizarding War, the prophecy and the night he attacked the Potter family.
