Just finished reading the series for the first time (haven't watched the movies yet)

I'm very new to this world, and I haven't watched the movies yet but I want to soon; the book series was SOO GOOD!!🥹🥹 I can't believe I never read or watched it all these years.

Some thoughts...

-I loved how the whole world is set up, it's not a crazy fantasy setting (nothing wrong with that, but just personally I don't enjoy those) , it's like it could ALMOST be real. The magic in it is amazing, best i ever read

-Ron is such a real and amazing character. He and Hagrid were my favourite characters

-My favourite book was Order of The Phoenix

-I didn't really ship anyone for the first 3 books, but from Goblet of Fire onwards I was rooting for Harry and Hermione SO MUCHH- especially the Yule Ball when he noticed her as a 'pretty girl in a blue dress'...the ONLY OTHER girl he had called pretty till then was Cho, i think. I was disappointed by JK Rowling's decision to not make them fall in love, because any two people with the kind of connection they had deserve to be by eachothers side not just for the present lifetime, but for all the others to come😭😭

They shared such emotionally deep moments- saving the hippogriff, flying on him together to save Sirius, how she was there for him in Goblet of Fire...and in The Half Blood Prince the way he always chased after her when she was upset was SO SWEET. Then in Deathly Hallows when he showed her Lilys letter, and also THE PART IN GODRICS HOLLOW? Such a good scene

I especially loved these two moments from The Order of The Phoenix-

Around six o clock in the evening the doorbell rang and Mrs. Black started screaming again. Assuming that Mundungus or some other Order member had come to call , Harry merely settled himself more comfortably against the wall of Buckbeak's room where he was hiding, trying to ignore how hungry he felt as he fed dead rats to the Hippogriff. It came as a slight shock when somebody hammered hard on the door a few minutes later. ' I know you're in there', said Hermione's voice. 'Will you please come out? I want to talk to you.' 'What are you doing here?' Harry asked her, pulling open the door as Buckbeak resumed his scratching at the straw- strewn floor for any fragments of rat he may have dropped. 'Well, to tell the truth, skiings not really my thing', said Hermione. 'So I've come here for Christmas'. There was snow in her hair and her face was pink.

That last description of her appearance, especially. (I'm assuming it was from Harry's perspective as almost the whole series is)

And also the moment when Hermione's face was gleaming when she asked Harry if he would knit with her- I wanted to shake him when he said no and left her disappointed LMAO.

All in all I loved the series so so much
