Halloween Ends: how it should have set and ended.

I’m rewatching Halloween 2018, and I love this sequel setup, and the sequel Halloween Kill 2021. What I love about this trilogy sequels (or requels if you watch the latest scream films explaining) the first two films featured the same Halloween night. Not the year later, which I thought was perfect. Till Halloween Ends feature Halloween couple years laters. I thought this franchised was gonna focus on three movies on one Halloween night. The posters were even brilliant, cause it payed tribute to Halloween 3 (skeleton, pumpkin, and witch).

But the third instalment was off the road instead of on the highway.

Halloween ends was not set in the same Halloween night but two or a year later after the last events with Micheal Myers’s. The story was derailed when the plot then focus on a new character becoming like Micheal. This was a wtf moment for fans even for me. Obviously trying to keep the franchise going with a new character. But not why we wanted to watch the film.

Watching it I understand trying to create something new and different but it was just plane bad. It was off putting plus trying to add nostalgia actions wasn’t even necessary.

What the writers (or whoever was in charged) should have had the movie set as the same Halloween night from 2018, continuing through the night, maybe have Micheal finally speak two words near the end of his death like “scared you” or “trick or treat” something like that, and later on Lori finally kills Micheal, taking off his mask showing his face, as the sun is rising Lori is walking freely and smiling, passing by a pumpkin in foreground as the candle burns out. Ending the franchise.

This is just in my take how it should had went. What do you think, or is there general information why the third instalment was the way it was.
