Avoiding damage with tied back styles

Hello! Im a man with mid back length 2c-3b hair type (god it just does whatever the hell it wants)

And I’ve recently landed a host job! Which is great. But I need to tie my hair up for it. Something I have basically NEVER done before. It scares me because I do not want to cause and problems. Im also kind of paranoid about this stuff.

I was just wondering what are some good hairstyles for variation that are tied back and out of the way, and how to avoid damage.
