I found out how to change the notification tone on Google messages

So I have to start by saying that I didn't write this but I found this on a Google messages forum online.bbi have an S23+ and I was super annoyed that all my notifications were the same sound, but wanted my texts to have a different notification noise. Ever since switching from Verizon Messages + to Google messages......I think you understand the frustration lol. Here ya go :

" Ok, what you want is the option called - "Manage Notification categories for each app" which you can find in the phone settings, Notifications, Advanced Settings, and then to the bottom. Turn that on, and when you go back to the notifications settings for the messages app, you can then scroll down to "Notification categories" and then down to "incoming messages" under "Default Settings" and tap that, and that will take you to another screen where you can set the sound for just those."
