Question about threaded barrel

I inherited this Glock 19 when my grandpa passed a couple years back. I’ve always loved these but this is the first I’ve owned, but having not purchased it myself I’m trying to understand exactly what I’ve got.

I think it’s a gen 3, and that the threaded barrel is Glock-manufactured. A friend who is much more versed than I said he thinks it’s a left hand threaded barrel, and the LH threading would make it difficult to find a compatible compensator.

I’m planning to remove that charging handle regardless, he died at 93 so I think he just needed the help working the slide.

Welcome any expertise this group might have on the threaded barrel, my initial thought is to add a light and compensator and use as a home defense weapon.
