Download CS:GO without need to download CS2

As a Mac user I can no longer play in CS2, however to download CS:GO I need to install CS2 as well. So after downloading cs2 and cs go legacy it takes 64 GB - CS:GO ~ 31 GB. Why do I need to keep CS2 files if I can't launch it. Where's the logic??? Why we can't just launch betas in steam... Do I have to use t@rrent instead then?? Steamcmd did not help as well, i had hopes tho.
