The relationship between the Player and the Tdolls
For the newcomers to the GFL universe, I wanted to write a little on relationship between the Commander/Shikikan and/or SKK for short (thats you) and the Tdolls (the girls that you pull for and use in fights).
TL'dr: Robots with AI that are basically Human were treated like tools, we didnt and they like use cuz we cared about them.
I wanted to make this post because I wanted to explain why all of these characters are always thinking of the SKK, as we've seen in the events with Suomi and now Wa-chan (Macchiato).
One could just write it off as the standard "Mc is always loved by gacha characters to incentivize pulling", but I want to explain that this isnt the case. SKK has a long and very event-filled history with the Tdolls. The stuff that went down in GLF1 and the stuff that SKK did for the Tdolls would created a bond that strong.
They are Tactical Dolls, basically robots with very advanced AI. In GLF1, the Tdolls were looked as nothing more than tools of war. While T-dolls are basically immortal at the time because they could upload a back-up of their memories, they lose whatever happened between each back up if they die. There was also the risk of them not being reloaded into another body and they would basically just be dead.
Despite having AI advanced enough that they are indistinguishable from humans, personality-wise, they were just treated as bots. Even more so during the start of GFL1, when civilian dolls were being retrofitted to be Tdolls.
Due to human population lowering because of the collapse stuff, labor and military dolls were being made. The labor dolls did a wide range of jobs. I'll use Ksenia and Dushevnaya as examples.
Originally, Ksenia was "Waitress 3.0 third-generation catering service Doll". When that doll model was retrofitted as a Tdoll, they were renamed to Stechkin, named after the gun they were imprinted to use like all other Tdolls.
Originally, Dushevnaya was a "Caregiver T55 model", dolls modeled after children. Their purpose was to take care of elderly people and the old people couldnt accept normal adult dolls because they didnt like the idea of being taken care of by robots.
When Dushevnaya's models were retrofitted, their bodies were changed for adult ones and were renamed KSVK. During the first event we got to see what happened to our Dushevnaya after GFL1, as well as our Suomi and Litarra.
Helen, Dushevnaya's adoptive mother, was mentioned in the event and I really hope they meet up. She'd probably have some way of restoring Dushevnaya's memories.
So yeah, there's a reason why all these characters love (platonic/romantic) the SKK.
