How Did You Guys First Get Into The Game?

I remember I watched an ad for the game on YouTube around late 2020. At the time, I don't recall if it was just a fever dream or if I misremembered it. I recalled I had installed the game on my iPad, and after playing it for a while, I decided to delete it the same day as I was only checking it out, and the game at the time didn't immediately hook my interest. I remembered it was around the gap between Patch 1.0 & 1.1.

However, I saw a fandub video of a Genshin fan comic on my YouTube For You Page around early 2021, and I began to watch a lot of them during that time. During that time, I've only seen a few clips & gameplay footage while also not understanding the whole story. Following that, I began to watch the full story of the game. Nevertheless, I haven't decided to play the game again as I didn't know if my laptop, at the time, would be able to handle the game's technical requirements.

Around the time of Patch 2.5, I installed the game and started my first playthrough. I initially started on an American Server for quite some time as I haven't played computer games for quite a long time. I've made many mistakes on that account, which impeded my progress. Because of that, I decided to start fresh on the Asia Server. Concurrently, I've also gotten my first introduction to the Genshin official Discord, where I learned many optimal builds for various characters.

How about you guys? What were your first exposure to Genshin Impact and when did you decide to play play the game?
