So quick probably already asked question that I can't seem to find.

I have a champion dual fuel with a floating netrual. It has a ground lug. How do I use it properly if for say I wanted to use a corded hedge trimmer but the nearest outlet to mains is 1000ft away? I figured when I bought the generator since it's portable it was just plug and go. But the manual makes it seem like I need to stake a ground rod wherever I use the generator at. Like it's more designed for emergency backup than portable for example. It's my first generator so kinda lost in a all the code gibberish or it just says contact an electrician like I have 200 dollars to ask a simple question that they don't want to answer because of legality. Im hoping I don't have to stake a rod in the ground because when I bought a portable generator I thought that meant portable not drive an 8ft copper rod into clay rocky soil 😂 this generator will never be used to the panel or a transfer switch. I just need it to work with extension cords only. And just wanna be safe while doing so. Appreciate the help
