Does anyone else remember having a super irrational fear of being kidnapped in the 80’s?

I grew up in Los Angeles in the 80’s and there was what seemed like, an epidemic of kidnappers and missing kids that were coming to light at that time in our community. The milk carton boxes, the school warnings and the “Wanted” posters posted outside grocery stores or donut shops / 7-Elevens all added to it.

Couple that with the Night Stalker scare and it was kind of a cool, but creepy time to be a kid.

Anyone else have this fear as a kid? I dunno if it’s the same for kids now or if they’re just focusing on online safety… thoughts?
