Caught Cheating in GMAT by AI tool

My cousin took services of some online hackers in June 2024 for online GMAT exam. He paid INR 3 L for the services only after he got his score. He scored a 705.

But now in December 2024, the UPDATED AI driven software of GMAT first red flagged his exam and then cancelled the score.

When he contacted GMAT authorities they told him that they regularly update their AI driven software and run the software on all test takers who have received more than 90 percentile in online GMAT exams in the last 1 year.

Till here it was fine and my cousin solaced himself that what he didn't deserve, he didn't get. But the South Mumbai police (crime branch) came knocking at his door last week. This was the time that the whole family came to know about how my cousin got a 705.

My cousin has gone in hiding now and has also applied for anticipatory bail in sessions court, south Mumbai.

What surprised me is that GMAT is regularly reporting cases of cheating to the local police/crime branch/special cell. Though these individual cases do not become highlighted in the print/social media.

I decided to post this on reddit because a few test takers believe that by paying a certain amount to these hackers/cheaters they can make their future rosy, but as in the case of my cousin you may eventually destroy your future completely.
