Controversial take: I think Elsa developed a fear/phobia of Water after the events of F2 (if she didn't have one already).

So, I saw a post earlier, that....was basically another Elsa thirst post, this time as people if they found her cute when she was underwater with her puffy cheeks, and I made a comment agreeing but also stating that it be genuinely shocking if she didn't develop a fear/phobia of water after that scene.

Which yes, but I do think that it's possible that Elsa may have developed a low-key severe fear/phobia of water, or already has had it due to her parents dying at sea, and the events of Frozen 2 made it even worse. Now, why would I think this? Well, it's just common sense.

Elsa literally nearly drowned to death, twice that night/day. The first time was when she was trying to cross the Dark Sea (great scene btw, one of the few scenes in the movie thats actually good) and Nokk tried drowning her into the depths below, and the second was when the floor below her broke into the Dark Sea while she was unconscious after she was made UnFrozen (and really, her freezing to death can count as three due to the lullaby mentioning not going to far or you will drown, or something like that), and I don't need to tell you, but being in water while unconscious is not fun or pleasant.

Like seriously, you can't tell me, that she wouldn't come back from that and not be just atlittle bit damaged mentally (among the other things in her life that damaged her mentally). Not too mention, one of my biggest problems with the second film, is that they had Elsa fully embraced her magical side, to the point where she basically became a goddess of nature (and yes, i know she's not actually a goddess of nature, but it definitely feels that way) and basically turned her into a bland and boring chosen one figure, taking everything interesting about her in the first movie and throwing it out the window.

But depsite the questions asked at D23, I think there is still time to redeem her character and bring her back to having that perfect balance of magic and humanity, I've already discussed in a post I made a while ago about how Elsa could have an arc in the next two films about struggling to find balance between her humanity and magical side, with her beginning to neglect her humanity, and I think giving Elsa a closeted Fear/phobia of Water could be another way to have Elsa be more human again.

I can even picture it in my head, where Elsa and another character in the film are trapped in a cave filling with water, and at first, Elsa acts all calm trying to find another way out, despite the other character telling them the only way out is through where the hole is, and when said character questions if she's afraid of the water, Elsa would reply that that ridiculous, she's the 5th Spirit, her powers are tied with Water, why would she be scared of them?

But then she accidentally trips into the water and immediately emerges and clings onto the wall of the cave and begins to have an anxiety attack, admitting that she got it after nearly drowning in the second film, and ironically only feels comfortable around large bodies of water when Nokk is around (which is my way of explaining why she didn't see afraid of it when stopping the wave from the Dam and returning to Anna and Kristoff btw), and the other character trapped in there with her can help her get through her fear so they can escape.

Think something not too dissimilar to the scene from Tangled, where Eugene and Rapunzel are in a similar situation. Heck, if the film is a Tangled Crossover, you could have Rapunzel be the one to help her, showing how much Rapunzel has truly developed as a character. Being the older sister figure that Elsa never knew she wanted or needed but glad she got. Though really, this hypothetical scene can work with any other character as well.

The point is is that personally, I do lowkey believe Elsa may or may not have developed a fear/phobia of water after F2, and I would be kindof disappointed if we didn't get the scene I mentioned in F3.
