DPS6 Transmission failure

What's up party people. Driving to work today my transmission went hay wire. My car is a 2016 focus SE with roughly 107k miles on it. It really struggles to shift gears and straight up will not go into reverse no matter how hard I try. It doesn't always start and Hills are a massive problem and the part of PA I live in is all hills lol. I'm reading there is an extended warranty on this transmission or at least the control module or whatever.

Has anyone had theirs replaced through the warranty? If so how did you go about it? I see there's a 1-800 number but I hate dealing with them if possible. My initial reaction is to call the service center but I don't want to waste mine or their time if it will not do any good.
