Engineer Septic Inspection vs Scope?

Need some advice, I’m buying g a home in New Jersey for the first time and our realtor is recommending we do the full dig up the septic system inspection which costs $1700, she said the scopes routinely miss defects and she does not recommend them. I’ve never lived anywhere with a septic tank before so not sure if the cost differential is truly worth it.
