5.5% Margin Loans + Growing your Portfolio: To do our Not to Do!
Hi folks! I currently have about 100k in investments across s&p500, tech stocks, global, domestic, eTF funds that's grown well this year. Money weighted rate of return is ▲23.23%. M1 is offering 5.5% Margin Loan promo when your minimum margin balance across M1 totals $25,000 or more.
I'm watching videos and learning about margin loans, and wondering if it makes sense to invest more into this portfolio with the margin loan. If i have similar growth, or even half that, in 2025, it would seem worth it.
HOWEVER - teach me. What do I need to be aware of? Obviously would not want to gamble here, but it seems relatively safe, granted we have a bit of a bull market for at least another few months or so.
Thanks!
