FFVII Original or Remake?

So I’m sure this has been asked many times before.

I never actually beat FFVII when I had PS1 back in the day. I’m ready to jump back in. Should I redo the OG version? Or jump into remake Intergrade?

I was told the Remake drops the ball on diving into the full original story, not sure how true this is. Would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. Thanks!
