Actors not sharing/acknowledging projects they are in on social media
Hi all,
I have a issue that I can't work out if it is an issue or if I am being overly sensitive.
So I made a film recently. Shoot went well and the actors did good and it was all a relaxed environment.
My main actors were paid fair and square so no issues there. We all follow each other on social media and I am trying to promote the film as much as possible as I am my own hype machine.
The issue I guess that I have is that neither one of my actors haven't shared the project. At all. Not a single share. In fact, one of the main actors seems to have prevented themselves from being tagged on any of the posts that I have made about the film but they have not prevented themselves from being tagged on other film projects?
Now, this is a simple drama film. As well made as it can be for low budget (if i'm being as objective as I possibly can). There is nothing dirty, profane or politically charged about this film and it looks pretty professional and stuff, certainly more than it's budget would suggest.
It's just a simple minimalist drama. I mean, it's not like i'm posting every day or even every week about the film, I just share BTS and frame grabs and a trailer and stuff but the actors never acknowledge it or share? I know one of the actors isn't very active on social media so I can forgive that, but the other one (who won't be tagged) is very active. I mean, they both even laughed at me once during the shoot for something they perceived as silly which I thought was a bit mean spirited but I remained professional and nice and just got through it.
Is this unusual? Am I asking too much to expect them to share once or twice the film they were in? And the person who won't be tagged but allows themselves to be tagged on other film projects. Am I being sensitive or is this a sign of a lack of respect?
