Travel budget just bumped from $10k/yr to $100k/yr. Help.
Experienced a sudden windfall and my conservative withdrawal strategy I came up with years ago spits out that I could retire AND increase my spending by an additional $100k/yr. (Don’t plan to retire, but it gives you an idea where we’re at) The vast majority of this I’d like to commit to travel.
I’m not remarkably well traveled. Mostly sticking to local (nice) airbnb’s in socal, the rare Hawaii trip every 5 years or so, and flying to family for the holidays.
I have a young family with two little kids. This maybe calls into the question the idea of spending on travel at this stage, but I’d like to try.
Can you help me wrap my head around what it even looks like to spend $100k/yr on travel? What does the shape of our annual itinerary look like for example?
