Changing to Environmental Policy

I am really passionate about the environment and want to make a change to a meaningful career as I don’t feel fulfilled at all with my current options.

To my background: I studied business and economics for my undergraduate degree and did some courses in the sustainability domain. Now i have several options for my Master’s (and I’m open to doing a second degree if necessary for the change).

I am more into social sciences, economics, communication, organization & cultural change. I am interested in the science but I don’t see myself working as a full-on scientist in the field.

To my question: For a career in environmental policy: Would it be better to get an environmental science degree to get some natural science background or rather do a more political (international affairs, public administration, etc) with a specialization in environment.

I have no idea what is more useful/ more competitive as I haven’t met anyone who works in the field and don’t seem much discourse shared online. Would appreciate any insights or advice! Thank you.
