Italy Proposal

Does anyone have any input as far as good ways to keep a ring both concealed from my gf as well as safe from pickpockets while in Italy? We’re going in the fall and my plan was to pop the question later in the trip since we’ll be in a special spot. During the first half of our trip we’ll be staying in a hotel and we both plan on keeping important things in the hotel safe, so I’m not sure I could discreetly keep the ring in there. But it’s also going to be difficult to carry it around with me for 4-5 days as well. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!
