Turning 50 and just getting started.....where to start?

I can give a million and one excuses for not getting started investing the last 25-30 years. But I am finally starting, I just don't know what is the best option for me I guess are and looking for some opinions.

I have $5000 to start in something and plan on doing $500-1000/month that I can add and assuming I stay healthy, feel I can do this for the next 15 years.

It seems VOO is a popular ETF. Do I go all in on that since I am catching up and really just want to maximize an account or diversify a little?

If diversify, add VGT or VYM or ????

Thoughts.
