Possible combo in Megatron?

So I own a simple Megatron deck that plays artifact bois and sacrifices them to damage, nothing crazy. But lately I've been wondering about a possible combo I could include: let's say I have [[Liquimetal Coating]] or [[Liquimetal Torque]] out, and I turned an opponent's creature into an artifact, could I use a theft spell like [[Awaken the Sleeper]] to steal that creature, then sacrifice it to [[Megatron, Destructive Force]]'s ability like normal? Or does it not work like this?
