My dog is scared of loud firecrackers

I don’t know what’s going on with kids around my area but for the past 2 weeks or so everyday in the afternoon there will be, unmistakably so firecrackers going off around the neighborhood. I know it’s a group of kids setting them off since I happen to see them once. My doggy is scared, full on trembling and scratching the walls and hiding in the deepest darkest corners of the house and this is every day. It pains me to see him like this, it’s also really bothersome because he refuses to go out potty and I have to carry him in my arms and bring him to the nearest patch of grass since he refuses to do it on a dog mats. Cries and whines and when I try to nap he scratches at my door, when I open it he scratches at my walls and it’s unbearable, both for him and for me.

How can I help him? Like genuinely I don’t know where to start, I think it’s only going to continue since Christmas is nearing and kids find it funny to set off firecrackers. Advices of any kind is highly appreciated, please help me and my doggy.
