What's a good creature to be a guard?

I'm making a one-shot and I need to decide what kind of creatures will act as the guards that my party is going to fight. I have already used orcs and goblins, so I am trying to find a different race to use for some variety so they don't start to get bored of fighting the same ol' thing. Any ideas you guys have would be super helpful, thanks!
