Is Blasphemy basically the definition of “please don’t offend people?”
I’ve been thinking of the word "Blasphemy" for a while what is considered blasphemy.
I read a comic that I enjoyed and had a interesting concept called “blasfamous”, story about a singer who turns out to be a 100 year old nune who fell in love with a women (who is the daughter of god, the second coming of Christ) that she saved from villagers miss saw her as a witch. They both became lovers. But the nune sold her out to save her own skin from getting burned, and sold her soul to a demon. As I was reading I did thought “offf this would upset some religious groups” but obvious it’s a fictional comic, and the concept about how musicians are ideals to people. But is it considered blasphemy for just being made up?
I grew up learning about catholism, never had anything against, I believe there is a god, and an after life. Over time I became more spiritual to other religions, and believe many possibilities what happens in the afterlife or reincarnation. I never really felt an offend if comedy makes a subject of it, films and shows like Rick and Morty, dogma, Book of Mormon, south park etc. I have wide sense of humour, I guess to me in stories they don’t mean it.
The definition of blasphemy obvious, disrespecting in a way toward your god, other deities or what your religion belief is. Its world wide what you believe in a high power.
But is blasphemy the definition that a religion is asking “please don’t offend, other wise people will go wild up”? Like also the saying never talk about politics and religion at the table or a friend group.
I believe in whole freedom of speech even to the most hateful and ludicrous person but I don’t have to agree with them. I do think it is wrong desiccating, destroying or vandalism on any religious relic or temple by a person if the person themselves attack it on purpose. It’s a person action to blame that says about them.
What do you think?
All I ask in this post, please no praising religion what so ever. There’s nothing wrong sharing beliefs but this is discussion of the word “blasphemy”.
