An in-depth look at ergo sum’s Wolfpack rounds and their damage.

Note: the below damage testing was done using an adaptive frame sword. Specifically, “The Other Half” with relentless strikes and whirlwind blade.

After executing 1 heavy attack with ergo sum, you and nearby allies gain Wolfpack rounds for 10 seconds. Light attacks spawn 1 tracking missile while heavy attacks spawn 3.

Below is a summary of how these missiles impact damage for both heavy and light attacks with whirlwind blade:

LIGHT ATTACKS

  • Base light: 21409
  • Rocket: 1330+2935 (4265)
  • Total: 25674 (20%)

With whirlwind x10:

  • Whirlwind x10: 27832
  • Rocket: 1679+3559 (5238 or 23%)
  • Total: 33070 (54% increase)

HEAVY ATTACKS

  • Base heavy: 21409+(4x13823)=76701
  • Rocket: 3x(1408+2935)=13029
  • Total: 89730 (17% increase)

With whirlwind x10:

  • Whirlwind: 27189+(4x16815)=94449
  • Rocket: 3x(1679+3559)=15714
  • Total: 110163 (44% increase)

ALSO OF NOTE:

  • Each damage instance with a tracking missile provides an extra stack of whirlwind blade, making it possible to achieve x10 in as few as 4 strikes.

  • Works with cold steel perk. Allows the user to inflict freeze and shatter in 1 heavy hit.

  • Works with attrition orbs, drastically accelerating the rate of orb creation.

  • Also works with relentless. 1 ammo regenerated per heavy and 1 per every two light swings due to tracking missiles.

Not sure if there are other perks that synergize.

CONCLUSION:

For adaptive frame swords, tracking missiles add 20% damage to light attacks and 17% to heavy attacks. When used on a sword with whirlwind blade, light attacks do 54% increased damage while heavy ones do 44% extra damage. I’m skeptical that these values are universal for all sword archetypes. More testing is needed.
