Can't get a single one of my crucible control matches to count for the 3rd step of Light Reforged

I've played probably 5-7 control matches, getting anywhere from 0-18 kills in the matches, and still not a single one has counted for the 2 I have to complete. I've won some, lost some, did terribly and fairly well, and yet none of them have counted. Is there a known workaround or fix for this?
