How do I make this hallway look cozy and beautiful?

I’d like to give it an Indian touch and hide that circuit box on the left. Any suggestions from furniture ideas, rug, mirrors, choice of colours welcome. P.S- Gotta be low maintenance, toddler-proof to an extent
