maria died so antis could miss the point of a shadow meme

So it seems my little Shadow meme I posted a day ago got cross-posted to you-probably-know-where-by-now with the caption, “Maria did not die for this.” I didn’t know we were invoking tragic backstories over memes but okay. Honestly I’m flattered they’re so passionate about a fictional character’s legacy that they decided to make me the villain in their fanfiction. Maria probably didn’t die for shadow memes or anti-ai outrage posts but here we are.

For context: I made a post responding to an anti-AI art meme. It’s Shadow the Hedgehog aka the king of edgy clapbacks, telling sonic who said to “pick up a pencil, and say no to ai” to put it where the sun doesn’t shine. Pretty harmless right? nope, cause now I’m being roasted not just for the meme, but also for asking to get it pinned and wanting to ratio the original post…yeah, I asked for it to be pinned, big deal, if I’d known wanting a pinned post was a war crime, I’d have brought a lawyer.

To the those people acting like I personally offended Maria’s legacy, relax, she’s fictional, and I promise she’s losing no sleep over AI art memes. And to those mocking me for trying to ratio a post—hey, at least I’m not spending my free time screenshotting posts and not censoring names to farm karma in the cesspool you call your sub. Priorities, right?
