How much are people saving a year?

Hi all. We just paid off my car loan, so the only debt my husband and I have is our mortgage. We're now working towards saving for 6 months of an emergency fund. We were paying off my car loan, which was slightly more than $44,000, very aggressively and paid thst off in 34 months. I've become obsessed with the idea of savings, and really want to try and save $20,000 this year. Wfat are people managing to save in a year? How long did your emergency fund take to build? Obviously I understand this varies based on income and expenses. Just curious what others are doing.
