Loyce souls... what the hell??

So let me get this straight, the game WANTS you to farm for an upwards of 5 0 loyce souls, an item with a relatively low drop rate as is, but will actively lower the spawn rate of loyce knights the more you kill, making the only legitimate way to farm their souls is either using a bunch of bonfire ascetics, joining the champions covenant and making everything harder, or just joining the boss fight and feathering out b4 the actual boss shows up?? (Mind u, youre only told to get loyce souls AFTER you kill the boss)

I know all of you are well aware by now and im just screaming to the choir rn but still! This is just poor design, plain and simple. I defend a lot of this game and genuinely dont think its as bad as ppl claim but this last min optional item farm is just extremely lame. Like assuming you went into this game blind, this is just punishing for no reason.
