Infusion question for regular weapons.

I'm looking to run a rapier build with dark buff & I'm looking to add an infusion for the build. I've read lightning is good as most enemies have a lower resistance so it but dark buff stacks well with dark infusion.

Which one would be better or would it not make a huge difference between the two?
