Is this cymbal supposed to be shaped like that? (The bent one)

I saw it on Aaron Paulsen's story and it kinga sounds like ke is hitting the silicone mutes of the hi hat??? I'm not sure if he is, becouse it looks like a real hi hat but I've never seen it bent like that
