A personal question for the African American community DJs and everyone else
I love singing along to the music I play but sometimes some songs have the n-word so what I do is I use the word brother instead but that may be unacceptable too by some people.
Is it at all accepted saying the n word when you're singing and when you're DJing especially when there are African Americans present.
I am definitely not PC in any way shape or form. I make jokes about my own people and everyone else if everyone is okay with it because that's what it is, it's just a joke and I don't take it personally and you definitely know when it's personal and when it's meant to hurt.
Still, as a human being and as a businessman I got to respect other people's opinions and feelings so I really want to know the answer to this if anyone can share their two cents.
Edit: To anyone who down votes this thread; I couldn't care less. I was completely respectful and I'm coming here with the right attitude asking the right question. It's not self-explanatory and while I could ask it on the NoStupidQuestions subreddit; I decided to ask it here because this is where the DJ community is at.
I don't collect these upvotes like a trophy like a lot of people on here so do as you wish but it's ridiculous how toxic some people are on Reddit.
Just my take on it, take it or leave it.
Thank you very much to everyone who actually engaged in the post maturely.
