never been on a cruise, where do I start?

The title says it all, where do i start?

I’ve seen there’s different categories of cruises.

• I’m looking for a relax beachy hot vacation, with drinks and beautiful views. Somewhere in the Caribbean or Bahamas.
• not really looking for the party scene at the cruise, not shoulder to shoulder, crowded.
• would be cool to have activities on the boat (water slide, roller coaster, etc) but not a must.

• I’m not looking for the cheapest but i am looking for a deal, is vacations to go a real website?

• should i get excursions with the cruise line or trip advisor?

• any dates i should look for? prob should stay away of the hurricane season right? lol

• is the food that bad? will be getting a drink package but do i need the specialty food?
