What is the longest you’ve been on prednisone?

I have not been off prednisone in 2.5 years. My doc keeps throwing 30mg tapers at me everytime I have a minor flare but I can’t stand taking it. Currently taking 5mg but doc said to do a 40mg 1 month taper. I don’t want to because of how long I’ve been on it and how much I’ve taken.
