Help salvaging this… looks inappropriate and not as expected

Hello! I made this balaclava following a YouTube video. Unfortunately the eye gap is a lot bigger than it should have been, even though I followed the instructions to the letter. Also my friends say it looks like a foreskin because of the colour. It also isn’t sticking to the skin as much as it should. I’m trying to find a solution before unmaking it and making something else instead…
