Temporary smaller enclosure?

Heya

Is it acceptable to put an adult crestie in to a smaller enclosure (18x18x24) temporarily while doing up a large terrarium?

I rescued my at least 13 year old man from someone who didn’t want him anymore and he came with a large 36x18x36 terrarium. I want to set it up bioactive with a custom background. Of course this takes some time to put together and grow in a little, will he be okay for a few weeks to a month in my other geckos old enclosure?

Above is a picture of said smaller terrarium. I have added both real and fake plants to give good cover, as he is still very shy.
