Got my first AMEX Card.

I’m stepping into the AMEX ecosystem primarily for the Marriott benefits. I’ve realized that AMEX cards are more than just payment tools—they’re lifestyle cards that create a sense of exclusivity and luxury for cardholders.

From what I’ve researched, AMEX’s points system feels more like an investment than an immediate benefit. When optimized properly and redeemed strategically, these points can unlock luxury stays & experiences, effectively turning regular spending into exceptional travel experiences. In many cases, they can provide significantly more value than standard cashback rewards.

I’m also considering expanding my AMEX portfolio based on my spending patterns to maximize the points I can collect for future vacations.

Currently, I’m looking at the AMEX SmartEarn card. While it’s not as popular as MRCC or GOLD, I believe it aligns well with my spending habits and has the potential to deliver solid value for me. I can earn 12K-15K MR points per year with annual fees waived off.

Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated!
