What do you think of my setup?
I travel internationally at least once and a round trip typically ranges from 60K-120K based on when I travel, so I'm trying to collect as many points as possible. based on my typical spending I earn 8.5K-10K a month. My questions:
- CFU to CFF: Should I PC CFU to CFF? or wait another 6 months to open a new CFF to get the sign-up bonus?
- CSR: Not sure if I'm going to justify CSR, I transfer my travel credits to United travel bank but never use them because of airline booking flexibility with points. Also, 10X on lyft is ending. Is there any other card I should be looking at to replace CSR?
- Gas: I can be an AU on Costco Citi card to get 4% cashback but are there any recommendation for card which earns points/miles on Gas?
- I'm 3/24 at the moment, so would take any suggestions in any category.
My current setup
Card | Category | Comments |
---|---|---|
Amex Gold ($325) | Restaurants | Cashed in 100K offer and the credits are worth for me, also 4% on restaurants is useful though I spend ~$2K/yr |
Chase FU | Restaurants | Catch all till I got Capital one Venture. Don't know if I can justify having this. |
Chase CSR ($550) | Restaurants/Travel | I used this extensively for travel and Lyft 10X, but Lyft promo is ending this month Pros: Catches most categories as travel (e.g., Lyft, uber, transit, parking) and Lounge access Cons: Lyft promo ending (I use about $2k/year reimbursed through employer) |
Amex BCP ($95) | Groceries | mainly using for 6% Groceries and 3% gas |
BILT | Rent/Rent day bonus | Rent of ~5k/month and 5 transactions worth $500 on rent day to cash in 1000 points. Lyft connected to BILT for the extra 2x points |
Apple card | Apple | I don't use this very often unless someone in my circle needs an apple product on no cost monthly installments |
Bofa Customized cash reward | Catergory 3% | Oldest account of 5yrs. Currently set to online purchase, but I don't use this card at all. |
Capital One Venture ($95) | Catch all? | Opened this account 2 days ago for 100K points on $5K spend |
