Pre apprenticeship in plumbing or electrical?

I know a lot of people will say “don’t do school join a union etc etc” but my situation is a little different.

I managed to win a free scholarship to a trade school (Canada, Ontario) so I might as well take it if it isn’t digging into my pockets.

Question is, I have to make the choice between electrical or plumbing. Both are pleasing to me, electrical maybe a little more but I always see posts on how hard it is to get an apprenticeship. And how hard it is to get into the union. But I am not totally against plumbing either. Both seem to get paid well. I would just like to hear pros and cons to both.

Does plumbing have more work? Or is it as saturated as electrical?

Thank you!
