Unsolicited Purchase Offer -Seller doesn’t want to pay the commission. Why?
I come across this scenario often. While I’m biased, I just don’t quite understand the basis. The most common response is similar to “have your buyer pay your fee, I didn’t seek you out to sell, or I’m open to selling, but why am I paying your commission?”.
I just don’t understand the rationale behind it. Where does this thought process come from. If someone brought me an unsolicited offer that was acceptable, then why wouldn’t I pay a fee % points to the person that put it together? The flip side is, you list with an agent and have to pay a few more % points, but on the same sales price?
