I'm actually more nervous about the idea of beating the Lions than I am losing this Saturday.
This team has surpassed ALL expectations this year. From winning 4 games and picking #2 in the draft last year, to a 12 win [regular] season and bringing DC its first playoff win in 19 years (after 3 decades of hot garbage and he-who-must-not-be-named). We all know how good the Lions are, and most of us aren't exactly expecting a win, but the Commanders weren't even supposed to be good so we're playing with house money and I'm just happy to be able to watch my team continue to play football in the middle of January. If we lose to Detroit, cool, whatever, I won't be disappointed because this was the best season I've seen from this team in my lifetime and I'm just glad I was along for the ride.
But the idea of winning and having to play Philly in the NFCCG?! I don't know if my heart could take it. I'm genuinely more nervous about the idea of beating the Lions and facing the Eagles for the NFC Championship than I am about playing Detroit.
