Lots of questions about my DIY automated irrigation/drainage system. Here’s a video showing how everything is setup! Happy to answer any questions!
The main components of the feed/drain system are all made by FloraFlex. The bases are $10/each and the bubbler/tubing was all less than $50. Including the condensate pump and sump pump, PVC and other minor parts, the whole setup is probably around $200.
1) nutrients (Athena trio) are mixed in 32 gallon Brute trash can 2) there’s an air pump and a water pump in the trash can to keep the water fresh/moving 3) an 1100gph pump (Vivosun) is on an outlet timer (AC Infinity) that turns the pump on for 2 minutes 4) nutrient water is pumped through the PVC into the tent (goes through filter on the way) 5) water goes to bubbler and is distributed to plants 6) waste water drains to the bases, then through the drainage pipes out of the tent 7) drain water flows to condensate pump, which pumps it to utility sink drain (one more filter at the end of the drain line)
I have the timer set for 1 watering per day right now. When they’re a bit more mature they will be watered twice per day, then when they’re flowering they will be fed 3x per day.
