hurricane helene killed my fridge for a week (advice?)
hey yall-- i live in a part of georgia that hurricane helene hit pretty bad, and as a result our power was out for 8 whole days! i didnt open the fridge once the entire time because i knew it'd be a disaster.
long story short, it was beyond nasty. my roommate and i cleaned it together, but the amount of rotted food, decomp fluid from old takeout and maggots (dead and alive!!) in there was straight up traumatic.
problem is, it still reeks in there! i thought we had gotten all the flora and fauna out, but i just yesterday found a small cluster of maggots in the freezer with no idea where they came from. i guess they were hiding somewhere?? how do i ensure that the fridge not only smells clean, but is totally free from mold and wildlife??
