Yorgos Lanthimos would be an excellent choice to direct a film adaptation of any of the Bas-Lag novels

I saw his latest film ‘Poor Things’ last night and how he might tackle Bas-Lag was all I could think of as I came out.

I feel like his approach would nail the surrealist and weird fiction vibes better than, say, Guillermo del Toro or Tim Burton.

The only other contemporary director who I feel might be a good match is Denis Villeneuve.

Are there any other film directors who you think could be the best person for the job of adapting Perdido Street Station/The Scar/Iron Council for the big screen?
