Cat has a complete new personality after we have been away

We were away for a year, during that time we had two different households look after our cat (both family). We are now living in one of the households, it’s been a week and our cat is acting completely different he is so distant, only meows at us for food and spends a lot of time alone. He is 4 years old, adopted from the shelter and I will add our family did spoil him by giving extra treats or letting him out into the garden (supervised) which was never allowed as we wanted to keep him indoor.

He doesn’t seem to favour anyone atm, he just has his own routine with no interest in interacting with anyone. He used to be reasonably affectionate, will come over when called, accompanies us watching tv or just be around us.
