UK Bucket List?
I’m dying. I have a vascular condition and I’m starting to have trouble with bleeding in my brain and memory loss. I want to make some core memories with my husband before I’m gone, since he’s my home. The caveat is that I’m already so sick that I’m limited to the UK. This subreddit has given me so many laughs, and I was hoping you all could help. Tell me the very best places you’ve ever stayed or gone or seen in the UK - places that made you feel you’d already died and gone to a kinder, gentler afterlife. What I want for my UK bucket list:
beautiful things he and I can see together (we both LOVE nature and gardens and enjoy ruins and castles, but ideally, I need things that are wheelchair accessible and neither of us can drive. I know that makes it much more difficult)
maybe nice country or beach hotels for a weekend with a view (we don’t have a bathtub so it’s a nice luxury to have one for a weekend) and short walks
hidden gems in small coastal or market towns, or large, older cities (London is too big for me) of any type; things that blew your mind when you found them and experienced them
creative things Husband and I could do together at home? Maybe this is stuff I’ve not even thought of or heard of that we can do at home together when I’m too sick to move. If you have an obscure hobby you love, please share
My limitations: - I can’t fly anywhere else - I can’t leave the UK by other means (ferry, train) - I can take short train rides within the UK - I can’t do the kind of activities that require doctor approval (skydiving, swimming with dolphins, etc). - I’m not rich (this is a statement, not a complaint - I’m very fortunate to have a home and a person)
I appreciate you reading my babbling.
