What are your thoughts on “amn’t” (am not)?

I’ve grown up thinking that it’s normal to say “I amn’t”. I wouldn’t write it in a formal setting but I say it in conversation without thinking anything of it. It’s been brought to my attention that amn’t is pretty much unheard of outside of Ireland and Scotland. Am I in the minority for saying amn’t?
